The Care Applications business of specialty chemicals expert BYK is expanding its portfolio. Alongside products for Home Care and I&I, which are already sold through the renowned PURABYK brand, BYK is due to launch its own range of additives for personal care and beauty cosmetics from January 2024. This product portfolio was previously marketed by the sister division ECKART. BYK offers innovative solutions for personal care, that control sensory properties, gloss, stabilization, emulsification and flow behavior, which significantly improve the properties of natural cosmetics, hair care, shampoos, face masks, antiperspirants, nail polish and creams.

To provide our customers with even more information, a BYK QR code has been added to the label of our sample bottles. Using a smartphone, this QR code takes you to the digital product page.

BYK Shanghai has received the “Carbon Footprint Award” commissioned under “Responsible Care^® Initiative Award”. The prize was handed over at the sixth AICM Responsible Care^® Award Ceremony in Chongqing in May in recognition of the company’s excellence in sustainability and its decarbonization commitments.

On May 31 this year, BYK received the prestigious "Innovation Company of the Year" award in Shanghai in recognition of the company's commitment to differentiated and pioneering solutions. This is the second time that BYK has received this prestigious distinction since 2017.

BYK officially opened its second manufacturing facility in China, expanding existing premises with laboratories and administration in Shanghai.

Congratulations to our BYK colleagues at the Denekamp, Deventer and Nijverdal sites: They were able to renew their EcoVadis certification and thus continue to carry the gold label! EcoVadis certification is now a fixed element on our path toward sustainability. In addition to BYK Netherlands BV, BYK Germany, BYK USA and BYK Great Britain also have gold status.
